The restaurant made its guest believe they were being served in a Mediterranean palace. Nik and Kyrie were sitting in an indoor terrace, his seat being reserved in the far corner where greenery hung from the goldenrod colored walls on columns that lined the ceiling. The section they sat in was on an elevated platform above the rest of the hotel's restaurant. They could see almost nothing of the rest of the room, and no one could see them. It was pleasant, quiet, and private. Nik was obsessed with privacy on a normal day, but he didn't feel like running into anyone with the government right now. Many of them stayed in this hotel when they were visiting, the service and decor being exquisite - the best in town without question.
What would I say if they asked me who this girl was?
He scratched the back of his head, feeling a bit awkward for openly breaking a social norm. Especially with the potential and new found circumstance.
Finally Kyrie spoke, right as he was about to start suggesting different items on the menu - a few of which he had suggested or created himself, although no one but the hotel owner, the head chef, and Claude knew this. He debated letting Kyrie in on his secret but didn't want to come across as a braggart.
"At a loss for words, hmm? Yes, I agree. This place will do that to you. Wait until you try their food." He gave a carefree laugh so natural it actually shocked him.
When was the last time I was this comfortable?
He didn't want to see how Kyrie reacted so he turned himself to greet Claude, who was a little too far away for this to go as smoothly as he had intended. Claude seemed a little taken aback and bowed again when he reached them.
"Have you had enough time to look at our menu, milady?" Claude asked respectfully, unsure of the girl's relation to the prince. Suddenly realizing that Kyrie didn't know he was a prince - assuming she hadn't found out yet - he hoped Claude wouldn't address him as such, which of course, he would, because he was Claude. He rubbed his face and placed a hand on Claude's arm.
"You know, I think we are going to need a little more time. Maybe five minutes. Will that be alright?" Claude nodded and excused himself and Nik gave Kyrie a weary look. "Claude is a good man. He is just a little too anxious. He means well though." He smiled, suddenly aware of a knot increasing in size within his stomach. He didn't have much of an appetite when he had suggested coming here, but now he seemed to be almost adverse to the thought of eating. He rubbed his head and looked at Kyrie, then looked away, realizing that she was the cause of his knot and that facing her was certainly not helping. He pretended to be observing the entrance, even though no one else was here at this time.
"If you want me to describe any of the dishes, let me know. I think I know them all adequately enough to do justice to them."

Before she knew it she was being whisked away gently by her arm. He said nothing, only led her to his office. As he helped her into his leather jacket she began to feel even more like a school girl towards his gentlemanliness.
She was quit as he was helping her into the helicopter because she was still amazed he asked
her
out. She hadn't been on many dates for her age and she couldn't help but think about this being one. She grinned a little as she bit her lower lip and looked out the window at the thought. In the back of her mind she knew it probably wasn't but she still liked to dream.
Story of my life
.
When they arrived he remarked about the ride, still in shock she managed a nod and liked when she looked at him.
Once inside many different people with suits and shiny name tags greeted him. It was so nice it almost seemed fake. She looked about the entrance taking it all in as she was standing with him. She held back a girlish laugh and thought,
he took me to a hotel.
He seemed to notice and she sunk into her hair, which was now down as an attempt to make her outfit a little less frumpy, and hid her red cheeks. She looked back up in time to catch his wink and she felt better.
A much too excited host greeted them now and they were led to their special table, reserved especially for him she was sure. She was beginning to feel like a princess as she sat across from him with everyone around to see. She felt so lucky. Lost in her thoughts she was brought back to her senses when she heard his soft voice speak again.
I will be forced to never take you with me places again.
She jumped a little. "Oh, I'm sorry - no, don't! I mean..." She breathed out a laugh, "I was just taken back by the beauty of the hotel, and I'm sort of at a loss for words. I guess."
The beauty of this hotel, amoung other things.
She smiled and brushed her hair out her face. "It's really nice to be here with you too."

He had chosen not to respond to Kyrie’s prideful demands as to why he refused to be the one to continue her dance lessons, and not said anything else other than taking her arm and leading her out of the room that was beginning to make him feel like his head was going to spin off. He had lead her through the school halls and to his office, where he dug an old brown leather coat out of his closet and helped Kyrie to slip it on. He was impressed and pleased by her lack of verbal response to anything he was doing and had taken a moment to look at her for awhile, smiling and winking at her before he took her arm in his again and lead them outside. Even on the five minute walk to the helipad, neither of them said a word. He was decidedly impressed with the girl. As far as he had known her, other than times where she was severely depressed about something and he would spend an hour holding her and comforting her, he could not recall a time when she had voluntarily kept silent. Not a word or sound escaped her mouth. It was eerily attractive. He thought of how she’d looked back at him in his office and repressed a shudder.
“Watch your step.” He spoke, breaking the seemingly ancient silence between them as he lifted her up and held her hand as she climbed into his chopper. Rubbing his hands together, he briskly walked around and leapt into the driver’s side. On the way into town he had almost forgotten he had a passenger, she seemed so distracted by the view of the ride.
He spoke again as he extended a hand to help her jump out and onto the helipad of the Grand Warwick Hotel. “Lovely flight, isn’t it? Twenty-five minutes of peace and relaxation. It really makes me realize how small we are in the grand scheme of things. Anyways, please follow me.” Unfortunately he had to watch the implications of his distance to Kyrie, and would not be able to take her arm without the hotel manager what exactly it was he did with students in his free time. The last thing he wanted was accusations flying that could get his school shut down – especially accusations that he could not, in good conscious, refute. He gave a light sigh and held the door for his guest and continued leading the way to the elevator, out to the main floor – where he was met with warm delight by the manager – and into the restaurant the hotel bragged about in every advertisement they put out.
He noticed the look on Kyrie’s face as it registered in her that he had taken her to a hotel after everything that lead up to this. He had been waiting for such a reaction – in fact, he had been hoping for it. “I trust this means that your sense of humor is at least minutely restored. Yes Kyrie, we are at a hotel. To dine. That is all.” He couldn’t resist slipping in a wink before their host appeared and greeted them. They were seated promptly at a private booth in the back, where Nikolai helped Kyrie out of her coat and handed it to the young host and asked for Claude, an old acquaintance and the restaurant’s most acclaimed server, and the host nodded and rushed off in a high-paid, float-like manner.
He gazed expectantly and with some curiosity at the girl sitting across from him. “You know my dear, if you do not return to yourself and start speaking soon I will be forced to never take you with me places again.”
